Bakkhali is located on one of the many deltaic islands spread across southern Bengal. Most of the islands are part of the Sundarbans, barring a few at the fringes.
Geonkhali is a village and scenic tourist spot in the Mahishadal Block of East Midnapore district of West Bengal. It is located at the confluence of the rivers Hooghly, Rupnarayan and Damodar a wonderfull place which is a rare of the rarest places to visit in west Bengal. At the confluence, the river is so wide as to resemble the sea, making for a spectacular sight.
